Hi,

Im using PFE but have the following questions when flying the PMDG 747 with it:-

1. When should you contact clearence? If i do this as soon as i have power to the aircraft (before start, just APU running) it gives me my sqwark code and then tells me to contact ground, which happens automatically as in mode 2 but then it tells me to TAXI. I didn't really want to taxi at that point as my plane wasn't setup and am about 15 mins from having the engines running. How do other deal with this? Should you only contact cleanrence when ready to taxi?

2. I also get a problem where I hear the captain confirm something like "out of 6000 for FL160" without hearing ATC give me the instruction? Is this a bug? It doesn't happen with all commands.

3. Also yesterday when on an approach it asked me turn right on xxx heading and never took me off that heading until I requested Vectors. Shouldn't it automatically bring me on based on my flight plan without having to ask??

1. Put the VCP in mode 1 to begin with then when you are ready to ask for taxi instructions switch to mode 2, CTRL Shift V lets you cycle through all available modes, but be aware you cant change mode when the taxi guidance system is active, so be sure to switch modes before requesting taxi instructions.

2. Most probably missing wav files due to a bad install, Dave should be able to confirm if you send him the logs from your flight.

3. Not sure about this one but it could be a bad flight plan or you missed an instruction due to missing wav files as in the answer to question 2. Again the log from the flight may shed some light on it.

I have another question now following a flight I have just done from EGNX to LEPA...

Just before Top of Descent I called LEPA ATIS who told me run 06L was in use, so I programmed my FMC for 06, then PFE started to desend me but they told me to expect 26R.

For the record I am using REX for real weather but don't know why FSX / PFE / ATIS had 2 different runways for landing??

Needless to say I had make some quick changes for a landing on 26R.

Also. had a quick look in my logs for voice bits that seem to be missing at clearence and have extracted part of it below:-

As you can see there is an error in Line 2. and I am sure I never hear line 1..

Any ideas?

As in the real world the active runway can change. As for missing files what is the version of your original pfe... The cd or download you purchased?
