As for turning the sound off/down in FSX that's done within FSX not PF3.
In his case: P3D (I sometimes confuse P3D and PF3, too)
You may recall I suggested to Dave in early beta that the now PF3 should have been P3F :-)

Ok - I think I have found the culprit. The AS16 weather enginne had that turned on by default. I've turned it off now.

As its never done it before, or since for that matter, I do wonder why it kept repeating itself though.
