Im trying to get used to PFE as it sounds much better then RC4 but its seems so complicated to set up and I have issues I dont know how to work round.

Im doing flights from CYYC to CYVR and back with the new PMDG737NGX and ive filed FL360 in Proflight and compiled the flightplan then start it up in PFE and check the altitides set at FL360 but in flight I seem to get stuck at somewhere around 16 to 20,000ft and never get my final cruise altitude. I can ask for a higher altitude but it only seems to go up 2000ft at a time so I have to select (option 6) 7 or 8 times!. Why wont ATC clear me to 360?

Then coming down I am stuck too!. I fly so far past my T/D im almost on top of the airport before I get any kind of decent clearance. The PMDG737 which has a very accurate T/D point is pointless if im 50 miles past my T/D when I finaly am allowed to come down. Even with the speedbrakes full open I cannot make it down.

Please help.

First of all, are you using version 2.14?

Have you checked the waypoint altitudes in pfe for the flight in question? Do they show the correct tod, if not you need to adjust them. Also please see the documentation regarding requesting specific climb to/descend to altitudes from atc
