When I installed PFE I got this message:

Missing NSVCR71.dll file. Reinstall PFE.

I reinstalled but got the same message. I haven't used PFE yet but is this an issue? I did a search but nothing came up.
Thanks
Alan

Where are you installing PFE?

Have you completely removed PFE and it's folders from your system after removing it..

Never had a dll error like that!

I installed it on my E: drive (where my FSX program and associated program files reside). I did not remove PFE as I got the message when initially installing the program so just reinstalled. Should I have uninstalled the program before resinstalling it? PFE seems to work okay -- except the issues I listed in a separate post (which may well just be user error ;) )

You need to completely remove PFE now including all it's folders and subfolders using Windows control panel, never reinstall over the program as this will throw up allsorts of errors and complications...use a registry checker if you have one and then reinstall...

So the install of the missing .DLL file, uninstall (via Control Panel) and reinstall will not work? I did this and the error message went away but I still have the missing check box when selecting .PLN file, Waypoints, and Oceanic Route boxes. I have a way out of date version (1.8.4 instead of 2.4) even though I purchased a week ago and have auto update turned on.
Thanks
Alan

Hi,
just like Dave wrote on your forum post in the FDC-forum :
Download and install the latest cumulative updates package from the forum and when doing so please close all other programs, especially your anti virus and any other security type programs you might have
