I am excited to see what's available now for route planning and ATC guidance. However I want to make sure these programs will do what I am assuming they will before dropping $100. Please excuse me if these are very basic questions.
Do PFE and FDC Live Cockpit interact with each other and will the two programs give me these features:
  1. Allow me to plan a route from airport to airport using ATC for navigation?
Let me pick the aircraft I will be flying (I like the LearJet)?
    Allow fuel and weight loadings?
Provide a checklist that is appropriate for the chosen aircraft?
Provide FO checklist read off and allow me to carry out the instructions including tuning COM and NAV radios?
Provide guidance to the active runway?
After take off provide spoken ATC commands to guide me on the planned route including FL changes?
    Provide approach vectoring?
Provide navigation to the advised gate?
Does PFE provide the ATC interaction or is this handled through FDC? How many aircraft are available?
And -- importantly, are both compatible with WIN7 64bit?

Many thanks
Alan

Do PFE and FDC Live Cockpit interact with each other and will the two programs give me these features:
Yes with Interaction..

Allow me to plan a route from airport to airport using ATC for navigation?
Using a suitable planner that converts to .pln format,PFE will convert the plan for navigational use..

Let me pick the aircraft I will be flying (I like the LearJet)?
Pick and fly any aircraft you wish, plenty of profiles out there to chose from including custom ones done by myself..

Allow fuel and weight loadings?
N/A...These are done by yourself with flight planner or particular 3rd party aircraft or programs like X-Pax..in FDC, the aircraft reads the weight of the aircraft and raises flaps/lowers flaps and gear as and when,

Provide a checklist that is appropriate for the chosen aircraft?
All included in FDC..

Provide FO checklist read off and allow me to carry out the instructions including tuning COM and NAV radios?..
Again all included in FDC...

Provide guidance to the active runway?
Yes and more... ;)

After take off provide spoken ATC commands to guide me on the planned route including FL changes?
Yes..depends on setting whether you want to manually tune the radios or have your virtual co-pilot do it for you...(Easy to Hard, you choose this on options 1 page)

Provide approach vectoring?
Yes..including Sids/Stars

Provide navigation to the advised gate?
Yes..and choose what gate you want(see documentation for further info when purchased)

Does PFE provide the ATC interaction..
Yes
or is this handled through FDC?..
No

How many aircraft are available?..
loads
And -- importantly, are both compatible with WIN7 64bit?..
Yes..i run on win7-64bits,no probs.

I have answered all to my best and if you decide to go ahead and splash the cash, there are tutorials on the web on how to get the best out of both products,if you haven't seen them already.

Hope this helps...

Many thanks for your detailed reply. I have ordered PFE and already downloaded FS Build which I assume will provide a .PLN file for PFE to compile.
