Would it be possible in a future update to make the request of a runway change on the ground be a single keystroke, rather than have to go through each ground waypoint? Not a big deal but maybe something for future consideration.

Sorry but I don't understand. You can change the hot key sequence to whatever you want and when requesting another runway you don't have to go through each waypoint.

You must disable taxi guidance first by pressing 1 then you can use the runway change key combination.
