Hi,

I'd be interested to know, if it's apparent from the log, why ATC wouldn't let me fly faster than 250kts, once I had climbed above FL100.. I set up PF3 no differently from usual.

Thanks,

You need to update to the latest version (3.16.10). You're running an old (3.13.1) unsupported version and there have been a few 'altitude' fixes since your release.

Ah, OK, thanks Dave. PF3 has not indicated that there is an update (I have it set to check each time it starts AFAIK - it always used to notify me).

Still cannot update via the GUI so I'll download the manual version.

All the best,

M.

That's because you're running an interim version that I sent you to fix an issue you were having. I should have said, or maybe I did say at the time, when running an interim version it won't tell you when there's an update and you need to keep an eye out here on the forum and update manually.

I don't recall now what was said, if anything, to be honest. My previous update though was (as again yesterday) installed via the 'manual' exe file I download from this site. Is that an 'interim' version? You mean that if I install from the exe file I will not be informed of updates? I am sure that can't be right - I have not been able to update automatically for a very long time and have had to rely on the exe files for that period. I have definitely had the GUI inform me that an update is available in the not-so-distant past.. (and then, when I run it I get the usual error message at the end, and nothing has been changed).

Whatever, it's not a big problem of course - I can in any case check here for any new updates from time to time.

M.

If you ever get an error when using the 'Check for Updates' then please report it here.

As for the interim version it was either one I sent you or you downloaded from one of the other posts where it was attached, because 3.13.1 (which you were running) was never officially released.

I even reminded you about it at the end of April ;)

viewtopic.php?p=23541&hilit=interim#p23541

Anyway, provided you're now up to date that's all that matters
