Hi
Thanks for the updated program but I am having a couple of problems with the "extras".
TGS Display. I use PFE on a slave computer (Windows XP) and FSX on a Vista machine but cannot run the new TGS Display on the Vista one. It works fine on the slave but nothing happens when I use it on the Vista PC. I double click the program but nothing happens. I checked Taskmanager but there is nothing there. I have run it as Administrator and tried XP compatibility mode but with no success.
Remotetext. I cannot get this to work. I am tring to run it on the slave machine where PFE is running. I have entered the machines Network name but just get the messge "Attempting Connection to PFE". I tried it with the IP address but with the same result.
Would appreciate some help please.
Regards
Mal

Hi Mal,

Last things first.

The RemoteText issue is my stupid fault  for omitting one very special piece of information from the user guide and if that wasn't bad enough I then forgot to add it to our FAQ's once I realised the mistake.

Please open the PF_Emulator.INI file (from your main PFE folder) and change the following opriont

[RemoteText]
RTActive=0

to

[RemoteText]
RTActive=1

With regard to the TGS Display, that is probably because you do not have some runtimes on your Vista machine that you have on your client pc (due to having installed PFE). Easy solution is to download, unzip and run the following file on your Vista machine or any machine where you wish to use the TGS Display program,

TGS Display Setup

Now I'm off to update the FAQ's.... promise! ;-)

Hi Dave
Many thanks for the prompt reply. Just tried the Remotetext solution. Perfect thanks :D
I'm away from the Vista machine at the moment but will try the TGS solution this evening and will let you know. Thanks again.

Hi Dave,

I figured out the RTActive=1 thingy, but I can't get any conversation between me, AI and ATC to show in the Remote Text window. "Show ALL ATC TX's for all aircraft" is selected as is "Show Your TX's to ATC" in options but no show. The ATC log window shows conversation between ATC and me, but no AI and ATC. What am I doing wrong?

And an update to my last report: I made a lot of flights since my last post here some days ago and PFE hasn't missed a single waypoint wherever I was flying - which was all over the world, basically... Perfect! 8-)

Thank you! :)

Regards,
Jure

Hi Jure,

I think you're talking about two different things here
Quote:

That's correct... the ATC log should only show the last several instructions/calls from ATC to YOU and no one else. Your responses/calls should not be shown in that log.

As far as the RemoteText issue please send me the RemoteText.INI file

Oops, my bad, sorry...

I sent you the RemoteText.ini file.

Just to add, I am running PFE on a secondary computer, both Win XP and WideFS, of course. I set up FSUPIC as per your recommendation.

Thank you again...

Jure

Hi Jure,

Another omission by me I'm afraid

You need to set Closed Caption to ON in the main PFE options page

Hi Dave
That did the trick with the TGS Display :D Is there anyway to keep it on top of the FSX screen but keep the FSX in focus? As soon as I click on the FSX panel I lose the TGS display. Failing that I'll have to keep using it on my slave machine and crank my neck :?
Regards
Mal

Hi Mal,

It was designed to run on a second monitor or pc

Perhaps you should be using the TGS Gauge instead

Hi Dave
Many thanks - understood. Will probably stick with the old gauge or try and move my laptop closer to my main PCs screen.
Keep up the good work :D
Regards
Mal
