I bought PF3 a couple of days ago and tried a VFR flight plan between 2 class D airports (short hop, just 40 NM).
I received a Squawk Code from ground at airport 1 (correct), departed, and 5 minutes after departure - now on DEP frequency - the controller terminated the radar service and I switched to 1200 VFR Squawk. I was then handed over to APP controller, who gave me a vector (!) to airport 2, while still on squawk 1200. I think this is a bit odd....why did the DEP controller terminate the radar service and the APP controller started over again?

Thanks for clarifying,

Thomas

Logs or it did not happen :)

But yes, there are some oddities in the handling of VFR flights, but I haven't seen this one yet. There already is an open ticket in the beta forum for improving VFR.

I don't find the thread right now, but I already reported the vectoring while flying VFR in uncontrolled airspace.
I seem to remember Dave said it will be fixed in the next release.
