In the SIDS STARS page I have set up LOWI transition altitude as 11000. So when asked to descend to 9500 FAF by Rattenburg I am instructed to descend to FL950 instead of "Descend to 9500 on qnh etc."
Do I need to do something else? or is there a bug somewhere?

Was that Rattenburg Approach?

If not I'm assuming (because (a) I can't remember and (b) and haven't had chance to check the code) you need to be talking to 'approach'

I don't know if my memory is getting worse as I get older...
...I just can't remember how it used to be!

Hi Dave,
Yes it is the Rattenburg Approach and I 'was' talking to "approach"
Here's an extract from the log:-
16/08/2014 16:58:22: 060 - Transcript: 'Speedbird 2578 Contact Approach on 119.27 '
16/08/2014 16:58:28: 250 - Transcript: '119.27 Speedbird 2578 Good day '
16/08/2014 16:58:37: 530 - Transcript: 'Approach Speedbird 2578 Out of Flight Level 140 for Flight Level 120'
16/08/2014 16:58:44: 800 - Transcript: 'Speedbird 2578 Roger Radar contact '

A bit later---

16/08/2014 16:59:40: 610 - Transcript: 'Speedbird 2578 Descend and maintain Flight Level 95'
16/08/2014 16:59:46: 800 - Transcript: 'Out of Flight Level 120 for Flight Level 95 Speedbird 2578'

Otherwise it's spot on!

Just looked at the code.... you have to be clear of the final waypoint in your flight plan for the local TA to kick in

The final wypt in my fpl is RTT Rattenburg before LOWI and Approach gives me the instruction to descend to FL950 before I arrive there. So I presume the only thing I can do is to reset to QNH during the turn back in the hold. Just before I reach RTT on the outbound leg I'm handed over to LOWI tower. But after being told to descend to FL950. No further descent instructions are therefore received.
