Really like PFE but so far I have yet to complete a flight.
After takeoff I am vectored by ATC towards the filed route or first waypoint and can hear other traffic talking to ATC.
After a few minutes the ATC is dead and no other traffic heard.
On reaching the first waypoint still no instructions from ATC to change heading etc.
Tried filing a new plan with a VOR near to destination airport and still no success.
Carefully monitoring ATC but no instructions missed.
Did have one flight where instruction issued to change heading in FSUIPC window but no ATC sound.
After around 20 attempts I am now out of ideas.
Latest log file sent.
Any help would be appreciated.

It will be for the experts to examine your log file, but a couple of thoughts......

After initial vectoring do you hear atc tell you to "continue own navigation" ?

Do you hear atc tell you to contact another atc frequency ?

Have you turned the FSX atc sound off ?

Peter

Hi Peter,

No call from ATC at all to change frequency or continue own navigation - specifically checked for that a couple of times.
FSX sound is off.

Only thing I can see that's amiss is you continued climbing to FL 90 without clearance?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for responding.
I carried on the flight - without ATC -just for the hell of it. Hence the climb to 9000ft without clearance.
Definitely no sound from ATC once I am away from the departure airport and enroute to first waypoint - this happens every flight.
I noticed in the forum the exact same issue posted 6th January by MartinLest.
His issue also does not seem to have been resolved as far as I can see.
If the log file is showing that the correct call to change heading/altitude/frequency was made then clearly this is not being relayed via FSUIPC or the sound system.
Seems funny that two users are having the exact same issue don't you think ?

Before posting and before the flights I sent you I re-installed and ensured Anti Virus off during install. Files installed to C:/PFE folder.
Tested program before adding extended voice pack and still had same problem.

Only other thing I could consider is doing some kind of video that would show you the screen/sound alongside the log file but that would only prove that I am not missing something.
Any other ideas ?

Hi Dave,

Sent you another logfile.
Flight is EGCC via waypoint RODOL (9000ft) to EGCN.
This time I am vectored from the airport OK towards my first waypoint RODOL.
I make sure that I am climbing a steep as possible to get asssigned altitude early.
I reach 9000ft and am cleared by ATC to resume own navigation.
I switch autopilot to GPS mode and follow flight plan.
No further contact from ATC, no frequency changes, no descent instructions as I get near to EGCN and no chatter from other aircraft.
I arrive at EGCN still at 9000 ft with no further contact from ATC.

I am guessing that I should get a handoff at some point after departure to EGCN approach but as with all other flights this never comes.
Is there possibly a problem with my flight plan ?

Are you getting an error message towards the bottom of your de-bug file, like error 429 or similar?

What planner are you using?

Have you only tried short flights? What kind of Navaid is RODOL? Try including a VOR into the plan.

Very strange

DaveM & DaveL,

Thanks for responding. Latest test flight -

EGCC>>WAL>>IOM>>EGAA
Manchester to Belfast via two VOR waypoints.

Re-installed PFE 2.14 and rebuilt flight plan using FS Commander.
PFE running as Administrator.
Weather provided by OPUS.
Monitored flight using PFE Display utility.

Preflight and takeoff OK cleared to 10,000ft - resume own navigation.
PFE Display monitoring departure frequency and showing WAL as next waypoint.

As usual approx 10 minutes into flight all comms lost and radio dead.
No frequency change or heading changes given at any point.
On arrival at WAL still on Manchester departure frequency and no heading change given.
Stopped flight.
On exit from the flight a small snippet of ATC sound heard.

New log file sent by email to Dave March - any help or ideas would be appreciated.
