Hi.

I have just upgraded to 2.14.0.

I run PFE on a win 8 to to win 7 network.

In previous versions everything worked fine, but now I cannot get the remote text window to connect to PFE and display the incoming and going messages on the client? All I get now is "trying to connect to PFE!" It used to work in previous versions?

Everything else works fine!

Do I have to install PFE on both the client and the server, and edit the config file to the server address?

I am a little confused about the fact that there is now a config file? I never saw that before, and the remote text window used to work fine and showed all communications! From the fact that there is a config file, specifying a PFE server address and port, I am assuming that this now uses simconnect for the remote text display?

If that is the case, then there is a big problem, because a win 8 to win 7 simconnect network does not work! There is something in win 8 that prevents simconnect from working? I have also tried simconnect on a win 8 to win 8 network, and simconnect does not work on that either.

Slightly off topic, but relevant, if this is a simconnect issue, I could not get REX Essentials + OD to connect over a win 8 to win 7, nor a win 8 to win 8 network, using somconnect. REX have actually refunded my purchase, telling me that simconnect does not work in win 8!

I really would like the remote text to show up communications on the client machine!

Rgds.

Remote Text does NOT use SimConnect.

Have you checked out the various FAQ's regarding RemoteText ?

You also need to enter your IP address in the PFE server window,it can be found in your anti virus program under network if that helps..

Hi.

Thanks.

Working now. It was the port number in the PFE config file that was different to the port number I specified in the Remote text config!
