What am I missing :?
The log :)

You could tune to the destination's ATIS frequency to get an idea about which runway will be active, but when reaching the last waypoint I always get something like:
J-Bird 1608 expect vectors for the ILS runway 07
J-Bird 1608 maintain Heading 205 expect vectors for the runway 09
J-Bird 1608 maintain Heading 255 Cleared to final for Sierra Tango Approach runway 07 at pilot's discretion Contact Tower on 129.8 when established.

Just been given by approach 'Continue on the XYZ approach' :? , now what is that; the one I setup in the SID/STAR page or is it any other one. If it's the one I setup then that could have changed due to the weather and as ATC cannot give me ATIS, I'm not sure.
You should use different names for different approaches, that way you can distinguish them. But there should be a runway given, too, as shown above. Logs would help here (you can zip them even while you're still flying).

Update: now ATC is saying 'check position, you show 4 miles off the airway'........
Huh? This should not happen during a STAR. I'd really to see what happened here :)

Ah, my time machine did not see the edits 8-)

OK, let's see:
Lufthansa 274 continue via the Oscar Delta India November Alpha 1 Charlie Approach Remain on this frequency, I'll have traffic for you.
ODINA1C is runway 18 in your screenshot.
Lufthansa 274 Check position. We show you to be about 4 miles off the airway
I don't know about this one. I always assumed that you don't get this when flying the STAR.
Lufthansa 274 at Sierra Romeo November Descend to 3 thousand 5 hundred on 1017
Cleared to final for runway 36 at pilot's discretion Contact Tower on 118.1 when established.
Huh, runway 36? The STAR was for runway 18!
Lufthansa 274 Runway change Lufthansa 274 maintain Heading 175 at Sierra Romeo November
Descend and maintain 3 thousand 5 hundred on 1017
Cleared to final for runway 18 at pilot's discretion Contact Tower on 118.1 when established.
This was a cleared to final, not cleared to land. I'm not sure if a runway change is allowed here.

Dave, can you take a look at this? (I'll add a corresponding bug report as a reminder)

The off airway nag whilst on a STAR is a bug and has just been fixed.

The change of runway was due to a shift in wind direction and we had to use wind direction because no AI was detected. You should have been told there had been a runway change and that has been logged as a problem and will be addressed for the next release.

I did notice that you missed one or more waypoints. It is important that you hit each waypoint to prevent any unnecessary issues.

Also, if you're using a third party weather engine you need to check the configuration and freeze weather at your destination to prevent so many drastic wind changes whilst on approach.
