FSX, I have it...don't like it...too much invested in FS9, and my stuff looks just as good as FSX. Just wish I had a round world :) P.S. Kind of looking forward to Aerosoft to see what they come up with....
Well at least you'd know whether the problem lies with FS9+PFE or something else
That would be a pretty expensive fix for one program...

This may be unconnected with your problem, but i have had a couple of crashes where ATC.dll was the faulting module.

Cannte remebmer exactly now but something to do with the default atc causing a problem when one of your radio frequencies corresponds to an ATIS frequency in the vicinity. The key to this crash was it occured after attempting to contact the next centre/approach.

Do a google search for "pfe crash atis".

Thanx Peter, you may have something here, this is when I experience the hang, always on approach and I think always when I try to contact center or change freqs. What ever it is, it is a conflict which has been a problem on two different computer systems. So think you may be right,

Have a look on the FSUIPC (Pete Dowson) forums, where there is most discussion of this. Worth pointing out that there is no definite fix, but are ways to reduce it, and that also it is a problem with the default atc/atis, not PFE.

Good luck

Peter

Thank you, Peter
I have been reading all the threads on this, not sure why, but never a problem w/ RCV4. By all accounts so far, I should only use those ATIS etc. listed in the PFE and tune manually. I am not sure that is what I have always done. But I will further investigate. Again, thank you
