How strange.... when I was using FS I was based at EGSS and had no such problems and Dept was 118.6

Best thing to do would be to download my old PF2000 DB Editor and change the frequency from there... although why yours is so different I can't explain. You should find the editor in the AVSIM.com Library or Flightsim.com

Search flightsim.com for pf2k_ed.zip and pf2k_ed2.zip, you need to install the former then the later from what I have just learned over at flightsim.com.

I've just tried this editor myself Dave and it closes after I click on the OK button for the error shown below. All I did was enter an ICAO code and click on FIND. The same thing happens with the original download and with the update applied.

I presume I missed the step where I'm supposed to copy the Airport_lookup.dat to the data folder?, it seems to be working now.

LATER; I presume PFE updates this Airport-lookup.dat somehow when you do database edits?

If so the editor doesn't like the file that's already there and causes the previous error, so maddog cant edit the file anyway without reverting to the lookup file included with the editor download, which I presume is useless now anyway.

Hello
I have ran the DB Editor and the departure for EGSS shows as 118.6
In the .brf which is not used now it shows as 118.6
However whilst digging through the pf2000 directorys I find that 120.68 shows up in
\PFE\FS2000\PF2000\FlightPlans\PF2000 - EGSS to EGGD.freq

Hope this helps I would really like to fix this as EGSS is where I mostly base my flights from.

Well according to your BRF file you have the same dept freq as me... 118.60 at EGSS

Worked for me everytime and I've just check quite a few of my old logs so I'm stumped as to why you should be having a problem.

One thing you could try is adding the following line to the EGSS section of you PFE_FS?_Freq.dat file in the PFE\Data folder

EGSS,9,118.90,"STANSTED DEPARTURE"

I've purposely suggest 118.90 rather than .60 so we can be sure it's getting picked up in PFE

@Andy, No, PFE does not alter any of the lookup files used by the DB Editor. The data from PF2K is only used as a base and is overridden when/if an FS freq is found

Hello Dave
I have just uninstalled and reinstalled PFE
The problem is still there, I have edited the PFE_FS9_Freq.dat
Here is what I have in that file for EGSS
EGSS,0,0,"Stansted"
EGSS,1,127.17,"EGSS"
EGSS,5,121.72,"STANSTED"
EGSS,5,121.95,"STANSTED DELIVERY"
EGSS,6,123.80,"STANSTED"
EGSS,6,125.55,"STANSTED TOWER"
EGSS,8,120.62,"ESSEX RADAR"
EGSS,8,126.95,"STANSTED DIRECTOR"
EGSS,9,118.90,"STANSTED DEPARTURE"

From my latest attempt at flying from EGSS , here are the Freq's from the log

01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - -----------------------------
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - Current COM's (Routing=0)

01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - wp_iClearanceFreq() : 125.55
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iClearanceFreqL : 0
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - wp_iGroundOrigFreq(): 121.72
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iGroundOrigFreqL : 0
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - wp_iTowerOrigFreq() : 123.8
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iTowerOrigFreqL : 0
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iFSSFreq : 122.2
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iFSSFreqL : 0
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iUnicomFreq : 0
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iMulticomFreq : 0
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iUnicomFreqL : 0
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iMulticomFreqL : 0
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iDepF : 120.68
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iDepFL : 120.68
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iAppF : 128.55
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iAppFL : 128.55
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iCtrF : 120.62
01/09/2010 15:58:54: 590 - iCtrFL : 0

With the VCP handling coms "He" has no trouble tuning 120.68, even my Goflight radio changes to 120.68
which is not normally possible.
I am running on XP64 and everything else in PFE works well.
I will next disable UK2000 EGSS extreme and try just the default after rebuilding the DB

Hello
I have disabled all third party airports and deleted every scenery.dat from FS9
ran FS9 to rebuild the scenery database.
deleted all csv files and ran a different version of Makerwys.exe (4.4.1.0)
Rebuilt the PFE database.
The departure freq is still 120.68
