Follow the tutorial at least once, it's sounds like user error to me.

Also if you have SIDS and STARS enabled in the options then you won't get ATC heading instructions until you reach your first waypoint, at which point you would resume your own navigation anyway. The point of ATC is to keep aircraft away from one another so they can get to their destination safely, they won't hold their hand all the way and tell them where to turn to get where they are going. The only time the hand holding really takes place is during departure and arrival, IF SIDS and STARS are disabled.

Also rebuild your database and make sure you are up to date, PFE should be Version 2.14 and FSUIPC should be 3.98 for FS9 or 4.60a for FSX.

You also need to sort your problem out with the Roger key, please go into the key assignment interface within the PFE options and change the key to \ on it's own, rather than Shift and \, it's much easier to use then.

Nothing...all update.

I created a flight plan with fs this time, con verted for PFE, compiled without sid's and star (i didn't select anything about sid and star, but i don't know if i efectivly had disabled it or not).

Departure from LIRF for LEMD from runway 34L.

takeoff ok, then, i followe 340 degrees and wait for instruction, and after some minutes, at about 5 miles fron airport, the ATC say to me, climb and maintain FL100 and resume your own navigation!!!!!!!ù

WHAT DOES IT MEAN???? i just ask for a heading indication!!!!

"Resume own navigation" means exactly what it says, its now up to you to steer the aircraft to follow your flight plan, i.e. follow the GPS route. You could switch on the autopilot (if the aircraft is so equipped) and press the NAV button so that the aircraft will follow the route programmed into the GPS.

Ok perfect...but i'm still in IFR, right?...why they don't give me any heading to follow??

I used to follow the FS integrated ATC, that during the route, gave me information on the heading to follow, and they gave me istruction for landing too.

Now with PFE no, the ATC doesn't tell me anything with the exception of change freq and altitude...and when i'm near the destination, approach tell me the runway and then "contact tower at pilot's discretion"....and tower, tell me only to report when on downwind, base and final...anything about the heading to follow for the landing queue....i know that i am nr. 5 at landing...but anything say me in which directino i have to go and when i can land....

Tonight i saw a B737 passing a 1/2 mile to me...at the same altitude......near crash...and the ATC were drinking cold tee!!!!

And the most important thing...Andy thank you very much...you're spending a lot of your time to reply to my question....thank's...

If you filed (loaded) and IFR flight plan and you had to contact clearance at the origin airport then yes you are IFR.

FSX ATC isn't remotely realistic in that sense, real world ATC (RW ATC) will not tell you how to get to your destination under normal circumstances they are not a satellite navigation system :D they will handle the departure but its the pilots job to get the plane to its destination, the only time RW ATC will help in that regard is in an emergency. Of course when you get near the destination airport they (RW ATC) will tell you where to fly the approach etc to keep planes safely apart, but again FSX doesn't handle this at all and neither can PFE because it has no way of controlling aircraft in the air, FSX ATC doesn't care if aircraft are 2 miles or 2 metres away from one another.

No ATC system be it FSX ATC, PFE or any other package for that matter can control the aircraft in the MSFS in relation to airspace conflict with user aircraft, its a short coming of the simulator and is simply not possible. The only time FSX ATC will intervene is when on the ground taxiing and when an aircraft is on final approach i.e. you/they will be told to Go Around or you/they will be told to hold position when taxiing around the airport, that's as far as things go in MSFS.

Perfect Andy...that was my question!!!!....
I'm happy to know that PFE is nearest to reality than FS ATC...

The only change i will do, however, will be change the reginal setting to english...seems that is better!

Thank's a lot.

PS: There is someone using FSPassenger that can be advertise me a good aircraft (also payware) for C5 class?
