last night I recomplied a flight plan because I wanted to change the final leg into EGLL. So in effect it was a new ADV. All went well. However, the problem still persists in other flight plans which were recomplied using 2.12. From what I can ascertain by reading the log file PFE seems to lag behind and believe the a/c position to be at x when in fact it is at z. Having said that the ATC handovers are done at the correct points and on time. A strange anomally!!!

This is interesting indeed. Hopefully i'll get some time to do a quick short flight tomorrow and see how things pan out. One thing i did notice is that my TGS does not seem to work either. I suspect that a complete reinstall may sovle these problems. Either way i'll continue to check out the descent problem and perhaps reinstall PFE on the weekend.

Regards

Thanks KLC, it's always nice to have something more concrete to work with

I'm interested to know why or how you think PFE is lagging behind in where it 'believe' you are in the flight plan.

Are you using real time or accelerated time?

The data in your log looks very, very peculiar.... with some long time lags during the log.... what else are you running alongside PFE?

With PFE 2.11 I was able to run the sim at 2X without any problems. I have never tried PFE above that speed. With regard to what else is running alongside PFE I have a TCAS gauge which is always up to date and occasionaly I run AIsmooth. I also run FSMETAR. All of which don't appear to lag more than a few seconds at most.
In PFE 2.11 all the calls were on time without any lags (even at 2X speed) and with the same FSUIPC stuff running in the background.

Sorry but I cant guarantee the stability of PFE if running in accelerated mode. Try running FS in real time and see how you get on

Dave,

Still in the process of checking this problem out. I'm actually reinstalling PFE now and should be able to a flight shortly.

Dave,

Interesting problem popped up a second ago while i was installing the PFE Voice Pack on Vista64.

The installer won't go any further than the set the Destination Folder page, even though it detects PFE installation. Please advise?

If you have one of the very early versions of the installer and it's complaining about requiring PFE Version 2.0 or higher, you need to go to your Aerosoft account and download the latest version which fixes that issue.

If this worked before but now, following an uninstall, it's failing I would suggest you look at the very first item on the PFE FAQ page on our website
