PFE12 seems to have a major flaw. I have sent more than one log and am about to send another. The flaw which did not occur in the previous version is very late or non existant calls for descent. Everything else is ok. The step climbs are called on time and so are the handovers. This new problem is making flying a waste of time. Please sort it out as quickly as you can. Thanks

Very melodramatic talk , why not just request a descent when your FMC tells you you should, its not that big of a deal that you should feel need to throw yourself out of the pram with the toys :D I'm sure Dave will fix it if its not indeed user error.

People please remember to pick the correct aircraft profile in PF2000 and enter a cruise altitude there also.

Yes I have your FOUR and logs and will be looking into this as soon as I can. I haven't had a chance to reply to you before as I have been busy with far more important things, like a family visit.

I can only request a descent because of clouds or turbulence. It makes no difference as I am still ignored. And I have always chosen the nearest a/c profile in PF2000, and picked a FL. It seems to happen on flights of over one hour in duration. One of the logs I sent had a position lag of more than 15 minutes. FSUIPC is bang on as are other programes that use it. The odd thing with 2.12 is that handoff calls are all spot on. It just forgets to tell me to descend. (even if I force a descent). It seems that others are also having this problem too. It does rather spoil the fun if after 2 hours of flying one ends up having to saw off the wings to comply with a late ATC call!!

Yes there have been some other reports of this problem and as I said earlier, I will be looking into it hopefully tomorrow. These sorts of problems that only affect some users are always the most difficult to pin down so you will have to bear with me as I don't have a magic wand ;-)

Dave,

I think i'm having the same problem, however i'm still testing to see what causes it.
This is what i came up with thus far:
If i use the altitudes set by PFE the ATC tells you to start your descent per normal.
If i use PFE "Adjust waypoint Altitudes..." feature to set a new cruise altitude, the ATC tells you to start your descent per normal.
If i request "higher" during flight using the H key plus the new altitude, ATC doesn't tell me to descend at all and i have to use the request lower key "L" to get be down, at which point ATC starts telling me to descend again.

I still am not certain what's going on so i'm still in the process of checking things out here. I'll report back.

Regards

KLC
