It is the 0 key (zero) , not the O key

You should turn ATC sounds slider down to zero in your sim, otherwise you will hear the default ATC/ATIS in addition to PFE

Sorry I meant 0...
No joy with turning the ATC volume slider down...

It's really frustrating to spend $40 and go through such an involved installation process and press the key to finally see how this thing works...and hear nothing...I've been up and down the manual and I don't know what I'm doing wrong...I hope it's on my end because I'm really exited about using this product...

What do you mean no joy? The sim (FS9/FSX) atc volume control is a pretty basic tool. Turn it down to zero and you will not hear default atc. If you are doing that and you still hear default atc then there is something very wrong with your sim installation.

Mike, please send me all the logs files from your PFE\Logs folder so I can see what it is you're doing (or not doing) :)

no joy as far as getting the pfe atc to sound when i hit the 0 button...i only mentioned the default atis playing because i thought it might be a clue as to the primary problem...

You haven't sent any debug logs so I can only assume PFE is not running after you hot 'connect' so...... please check on the Options #1 page that your Debug Level indicator (bottom left of screen) is NOT set to ZERO. Please set it to 5 then try PFE again.
