Purchased PFE 2.15 2 days ago, also purchased and installed voice expansion packs. I have no problems creating flightplan converting to PF2000, then opening flightplan under ADV in PFE. I look in the respective folders and the PFE_FSX converted flightplan, they are in the right folders. I start FSX select the appropriate aircraft/airport BUT when I selected the PFE flightplan from the FSX menu it wouldn't load, I then cancelled this operation and connected PFE to FSX, I get the FSUIPC message that it is initializing, I noticed that at this point the PFE has completely disappeared (don't know if this is supposed to happen) Returning to FSX, I'm using the Aerosoft AXE320 Airbus which has it's own flightplan in the FMC but identical to the one created in the PF_flightplan, I select the key '0' to try and establish comms - no joy!, the same with all the other comm keys.

Does a PFE flightplan have to be selected and loaded for the PFE engine to work, as in my case the plans won't load, where can I find exactly what each comm key does ( a list would be good) finally, should the PFE menu revert back to the desktop in windows once the FSUIPC has initialized PFE.

I'm using win7 64 bit.

Take a look at the thread below for your disappearing PFE problem.

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1497

Then when you have read that I suggest you read the manual and the tutorial at least twice. Look under the windows Start menu for the PFE folder, you will find links to documents and help files there.

Also have a look at the included program PFE-Displayer, it will show you a list of commands that is relevant for the frequency you are tuned to, as well as other useful information.

I've read the manual 4 times, looked at your video "Stills" tutorials, googled 'PFE problems' and youtubed for tutorials (those available are old and mostly for FS2004). My eyes and back ache from spending so much time in front of my computer trying to get PFE to run. Can you offer any more advice other than read the manuals more. What is the refund policy for this product?

Well did you follow the link (in my last post) and then follow the instructions in that thread about the debug mode. The PFE app should always be visible in your task bar, if it's not then it is not running and not working. The FSUIPC window in FS itself can remain onscreen for a few seconds even after PFE has crashed, so that is not a good indicator that it is still running.

Yes I did - didn't help, Is it worth reverting to 2.14 as some posts have indicated.

What FP were you trying to load into FS. You should either be loading the original FP or the PFE Adjusted one.

There's a complete list in the User Guide

So are you saying that PFE is still crashing shortly after you connect it to FSX?

If so I think you should follow the instructions for rectifying a suspected bad install, there is a link to the thread below. Make sure your you disable your anti virus software while installing, then after install make sure the PFE folders are put into an exclusion in your AV software so that it doesn't interfere with it when you actually run it.

Please see the thread below with a few other fixes and workarounds for any other problems you may come across.
