Thanks.

The auto-update goes through the motions and gives the expected messages, but it does not update to version 2.15. It leaves version 2.14 in place instead.

I have tried to do it manually, but the PFE exe does not unpack from the zip file. It is visible within the zip, but invisible outside it.

Unpack the files and move them into the updates dir. Click on *.exe from there. Worked here.

Thanks.

As I already mentioned, the PFE exe does not unpack from the zip, it becomes invisible outside it.

Hi.

The auto update worked fine now on both my win 7 and win 8 installations. I had to reinstall the 2.14 cumulative update package 1st though, after the failed initial update to 2.15!

Have you done as instructed, downloaded and reinstalled the 2.14 cumulative update package?

Rgds.

Yes, I've been using it since its launch in 2007, so I know the ropes, thanks.

Sorry Michael.

I did not intend to offend. I am just trying to help out!

I do have quite a few problems with PFE, and most of them I have been able to solve/resolve.

My posts viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1471 and viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1475, and viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1430, show that I am active here, and trying to be helpful.

Just another suggestion? Your antivirus program?

I just had a very similar problem with the latest FsBuild 2.4.0.20 update. Avast prevented installation of the update, even though it is clean! I had to disable Avast to install the update, but then Avast also deleted the shortcut for FsBuild! I have now placed it is the exclusion list and restored the shortcut! It works fine now!

Rgds.

Thanks.

I managed to get it auto-updated by turning off all my security settings.

However the security quarantines the PFE exe file, and insists that it is some trojan or the other. It can only run if I turn off the security, so I suppose this is what I will have to do.

Hi Michael.

Glad that you are getting there, and that I was able to help a little bit.

I do not know which antivirus you use, but most have an option to exclude, and also to restore the exe file from the vault?

I hope that Dave is "picking up" this thread/post.

It seems that the update is being recognised as a Trojan by a lot of antivirus programs!

Keep us all updated!

Rgds.

Good day. I did as instructed last night. While I wasn't able to find time to do a whole flight, I was able to start one up, and PFE lasted the whole time. Thank you, very much for the help. It is much appreciated.

No,you do not need to turn off your Anti Virus software to leave PFE alone, only to install PFE as you said.

Go into your settings look and for files and folders to exclude,if you have Mcafee i can run through it with you as i run it.

Unfortunately most Anti Virus software treats some parts of PFE as a virus, which is out of our control, see this post/topic
