Hi,

Just purchased this add-on and have had nothing but problems with it from the start and have not been able to get it to work at all.

Firstly i could not get PFE to connect to FS and kept getting the rebuild database error, i looked on here and went through the rebuild process, but still didn't work, all of a sudden after a while it started working and now i can connect to the game.

But now i cannot get it to work whilst in game. the manual says to activate it by either pressing the "Connect to FS" button or selecting it from the Add-ons. I can connect using the button and i get the FSUIPC message window popup saying its loaded, but cannot see any options in the Add-ons for PFE.

I can also press CTRL+SHIFT+V to change the co-pilot option, which to me says the program is working, but it does nothing when i press 0 to connect to the tower. I am changing my frequency to 134.450 as told to when i compiled the flight plan.

please tell me what i'm doing wrong as i cant get the add-on activated and working ingame.

The add on FS menu option was removed years ago so you must have a very old version. Please download and install the latest cumulative updates package from this form

I have updated the software to 2.14 i think. anyway it is completely updated. OK so there is no option on the addon, but the program is still not working, i have been told to press 0 when ingame to activate the co-pilot and get clearance but nothing happens.

please please somebody help. i paid good money for this and feel like it has been wasted as it doesn't work

Try the following:

Start FS, select your flight, and position your aircraft. Then start PFE and load the flight plan you have previously compiled according to the tutorials. (Click the "Select New ADV" button and select your flight plan; it should be listed after you have compiled it.) After you load the flight plan in PFE, the "Connect to FS" button will light up. Click it to connect PFE to FS. Then return to FS and you should see a window with origin, destination, and transition altitude info for your flight. Press 0 (zero). The window should give you clearance frequency info and you will need to tune your comm radio to clearance frequency and press 0 to contact clearance.

I did everything you said and it all worked up to the point where i had to change frequency. It didn't tell me the freq to change too, but when i compiled it i got an audio message saying it was compiled and i had to change freq to 134.45 which i did, then pressed 0 and nothing happened.

i am using ASACARS which is an addon used by my VA to log flights do you think that might be interfering with it?

The audio message comes from PF2000 after you compile the flight, but PFE uses the database build to get com and airport info from your sim. You mentioned you initially had problems building the PFE database; I wonder if the process completed properly. You might try rerunning MakeRwys and rebuilding the database to see if that helps. The fact that the PFE window isn't suggesting a clearance frequency makes me wonder if the database build worked. (Note also the post below yours from another user who had problems rebuilding the database.)

I tried it today, and did everything the tutorial said.

i start the game then ALT+Ent to go window mode, then i pressed connect to FS on PFE. I got a message in the FSUIPC Display box saying "Loaded ADV:ESSA to EGLL - VCP Mode 2 - TA's 4000/6000"

but when i press 0 nothing else happens.

I can press CTRL+SHIFT+V to change the co=pilot to handle stuff and i do get a message confirming the change, but nothing else.

when pressing the "0 key" make sure FS has the focus : the moment you press the "connect to FS" key it is PFE that has the focus
