Hi everyone, my PFE was working fine, now all of a sudden it won't compile a flight plan. The problem is this - I convert a flightplan, import it into PF2000, hit compile, then continue, then ok, then I get "runtime error 5 - invalid procedure call or argument"; and the program closes!

The only setting I've changed in PF2K is the cruise altitude, airline callsign and aircraft type. Any ideas? I searched the forum, some people have had the exact same problem but their resolutions didn't help me. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I'm at a loss. Thanks

Win 7 64
UAC off
Installed in dedicated FSX drive
set to run as administrator
current version 2.14

Does this happen with all flight plans?

Are you using something different to create the flight plans?

You must have changed/added/removed something. It couldn't just stop working like that

Thank you for the quick response, I use FSC to build my flight-plans, and have built several prior to the problem. I tried the FSX flight-planner and got the same error. I was thinking that something may have been corrupted or over-written, I've uninstalled/reinstalled umpteem times to no avail. The only thing I can think of that may have changed something is windows update.

Thanks

Is it the actual plan,? Have you tried compiling one that used to work?

Yes, all flight-plans. I tried compiling some that used to work and I get the same error. It's truly baffling. Obviously something has changed, I've checked "Add/Remove Programs and the only programs installed post PFE is Accu-Feel, and Shade.

Okay, let's try the old faithful. Download and install the cumulative updates package from the forum. When doing so turn your anti virus off and any other security type programs you may have.

I'm assuming you don't have PFE installed in your c:\program files folder?

Just noticed you have PFE installed on a dedicated drive

Been there, done that! Uninstalled, used CCleaner then re-installed and updated to 2.14 several times. The plot thickens...

Hah! You're a Star! I had turned off Avira Antivirus but didn't think I also needed to turn off Zone Alarm. I just did and it compiled like a charm. Beautiful, I can now take my new QW Avro RJ100 out for a spin.

I have no idea why ZA interferred with PFE all of a sudden, I'll look into that, but thank you so much for your most excellent support. :D

In your settings for Zone Alarm/Anti Virus, try telling them to leave PFE alone otherwise they might delete a file or two thinking that they are trojans/virus.
