I am searching the forums and I might find the answer so please forgive me if this has been covered. I havfe installed in c:\pfe. I have the latest version and fsx with acceleration installed. I do not have norton but I do have nternet /pc security. I am going to reinstall with that disabled. The problem is anywhere from 10 to 30 mijutes fsx crashes and ask to check for solution online. This only happens when pfe is running. It also usually happens when im clicking a menu to look at a certain view. If I run fsx by itself I have no problems. When I reinstall with security turned off do you have any pointers? What can I do to prevent pfe from crashing? Thank you. Oh I am running windows 7 64 bit.

I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of FSX as well as PFE. I do not know if it is PFE causing this, however FSX crashes only when PFE is running. THis is the message I get.

PFE doesn't cause FSX to crash,it maybe your acceleration pack that's causing the issue.

I have FSX using SP2 and have no issues.

I was not sure if it was PFE or not. However when running FSX without PFE it did not crash. When I was running RC it did not crash. I was a user of the original PF2000 for fs2000. PF was the best atc program ever and now I know PFE is the same. Just in case anyone else is having this issue I may have found a fix. On flightsim.com there was a post on this. Go to appdata, roaming, microsoft, and then fsx in users. you are looking for a config file. Open it and change the value where it says maximize to 2. If it is at 2 change it to 0. I did this last night. I flew my first successful flight using PFE. Brought back many memories of being vectored to final and picking up the ils. I love it. So again it may not have been a PFE problem but I ficked it. I love PFE. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly Dave.

hi nwagtmustang,

i seem to have the same problem in that after about 15 to 20 minutes fsx seems to freeze up on me. im not sure as you say weather it is PFE or not, but i would like to try your idea to see if it makes a differance. please could you be a bit more specific in the location of the config file and what you are actually changing.

Or could you give me the link to the forum on Flightsim.com so i could check it myself.

Many thanks
regards judley

It has been so long i forget. Im pretty sure its in the registry. Run regedit and look for appdata. I also uninstalled acceleration and just use both service packs.

I think you start outmn users in the registry. If not then it might in the fsx main file where the program was installed.
