Recently my computer crashed and I had to re install all my software. I have reinstalled my FDC software, but when I go to use it I get the following:
Error 58
File already exists in initialine routine.
I press "OK" and I get:
Error 6
Overflow in "update blackbox" routine.

Needless to say, I haven't the slightest idea what these mean. Can anyone help me with this?

You didn't mention which version you're using but I would suggest you download and instal the latest cumulative updates package from our support forum, when installing please ensure you stop ALL other programs, especially your anti virus and any other security type programs you might have.

If you're running Windows Vista or later do NOT instal into the default "c:/program files" folder, because Windows regards that as a protected area and will prevent certain files being written and/or updated. I appreciate the installer defaults to that location but the publisher wrote the instal script long before Vista hit the shelves.

Hope that helps

I have version 3.7. I have Windows 7 and I have downloaded the updates, I am a bit confused as to where to install the upgrades since you say not to use "c:/program files with "Vista or later.

If you have installed fdc into the program files folder then you need to uninstall it.

Just install it into say C:\...it will automatically create it's own folder called FDC and then update as necessary

Thanks so much. I now have FDC installed. Last question: How do I get an FDC on my desktop for fast starting. I tried copying the exe file but it didn't work.

Try the other file that says FDC,if not go into start/menu and search for aerosoft/FDC,pin to start menu and try right clicking to create shortcut.
Also depends on your keyboard, with mine i can pre-load upto 5 prog's to load automatically at a click of a button and FDC and PFE are pre-loaded :)
