Hi Dave,
hi all!

May I bother you again with a question concerning "the other" addon?

I installed PFE into a non-standard location (C - FSX - Aerosoft - PFE) and tried to start it 'as an administrator' (W7 professional 64bit with all the Windows updates). As a redownload from Aerosoft, it's the complete installer v2.14.

That splash screen showed up for a split second, starting to display those messages from initialisation. Then this screen vanished with nothing more happening.

I remember faintly I had the same issue back some time with my former Vista 32bit and was able to solve the problem by suggestions from the FAQs, manuals etc.

Unfortunately, none of the tipps I've found so far could cure the problem.

Looks like it's pretty close; just can't see it yet ...

Thank you in advance!

Rgds, Oliver

Please download and instal the latest cumulative updates package from our support forum, when installing please ensure you stop ALL other programs, especially your anti virus and any other security type programs you might have.

If you're running Windows Vista or later do NOT instal into the default "c:/program files" folder, because Windows regards that as a protected area and will prevent certain files being written and/or updated. I appreciate the installer defaults to that location but the publisher wrote the instal script long before Vista hit the shelves.

Hope that helps

Hi Dave,

closing all those security items was the key, thank you very much.

I have PFE + voice pack running. XPack2 installer can't get over part 3/3, running installer 5/27. I tried a few times (security off, of course), but no way to get it to 6ff.

Cheers, Oliver

1:Next locate your destination folder of your choice where you decide to install PFEv2.0 (NOT IN C:\Program Files)..And now start the installation..

2:Now after install,re-boot your system (this is what i do)

3:Replace V2.0 with the accumulative installer to bring it upto date… V2.14.

4:Now install Voicepack V1.0 follow on screen instructions..

5:Now before installing X-Pack2,replace V2.14 with v2.0 from zip file(see post about problems with installing X-Pack) now re-boot your system so the file is recognised, continue with installing X-Pack as per on screen instructions....

Thanks a lot, Dave. I appreciate your patience with my questions, having been answered a number of times before ...
