Hi All

I just bought a copy of PFE to install in my new rebuild of my flight sim world on a newly formatted disk running a new copy of Win8--I recieved this error message at the end of my install:

Startup Failed 'Main' with Error 339 – Component 'MSWINSCK.OCX' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid at 260

I tried to in stall again using Win7 Compatability manager and recieved the same message

Can anyone help me with this issue

Hi Dorn,

Please try installing the cumulative updates package from this forum, even if you have the latest version installed.

During the instal please stop all other programs, especially your anti virus and any other security type programs you might have.

Also, if running Windows Vista or later do NOT instal into the default c:/program files folder because Windows regards that as a protected area and will prevent a lot of files being written and/or updated.
