Hello
I just installed PFE etc. but cannot find the tgs.gau file anywhere in the installation. A search for the file comes up blank. Help please.
Thanks
John

Hi John,
If you are running the latest version 2.14 you will find the gauge(tgs.gau) in TGS Gauge folder within the main PFE folder, wherever you installed PFE..

Hi Dave
Yes, thank you for your reply. I was originally running 1.8.4 but PFE informed me I had the latest update until I discovered a link to the last update and that installed the TGS folder. Although I have installed the last update I am still seeing v1.8.4 on the PFE opening screen. Also, properties for the PFE.exe file still show v1.8.4 so how come?
However, following your video tutorial I have been unable to see the TGS panel in the Airbus A321. I also cannot find the TGS .pdf file you refer to.
Any help/advice gratefully received.
Thanks again Dave
John

PS My Kaspersky anti-virus tool prevented me from installing all the files as it reckons there is a Trojan virus in the .zip file of the update.
Kaspersky is now telling me there is a Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Zlob.bomj in the PFE_V2_System.EXE file. That cannot be true can it?

Ok I have found the new manual containing details of the TGS gauge installation. I'll get back later tomorrow.

Hi John,
mmmm.....suggest you uninstall PFE and delete any folders/files that it left behind and reboot your system.
Re-install,but before you do please turn off your security features, also you can disconnect from the internet and tell it to leave PFE alone, this you will have to do in your settings.
Once you have done all that, then re-install but not in C:\Program Files...
There will be no virus in your installer,so Kaspersky is telling porky pies to you,but by the sounds of it your install of PFE is corrupt and you may have issues if you continue..

Thanks again Dave
I have PFE installed in C:PFE so that should be OK.
If you still think I should uninstall can I reinstall from just the update file v2.14 or have I to install from the CD first (v1.8.4)?
Odd why v1.8.4 told me there were no updates available. I guess the latter.
Regards
John

I uninstalled PFE and deleted the remaining folders. Re-installed with my Kaspersky off and no internet connection.
Ran the v2.14 update. Also updated the database and ran MakeRwys.exe. All went well.
I then put the tgs.gau file into the A621 panel folder and modified the panel.cfg file as per Dave's instructions but I cannot see the tgs window and worse, FSX stops working after a while with a Hotkey error.
Any advice gladly received.
Windows 7, 64 bit and 4GB RAM. (All other applications run fine)
Thank you
John

Hi John,
the tgs.gau goes into your Gauges folder in FSX
Once in,you can now add the lines from my tutorial into your panel.cfg of A321,i believe i used default so it made it easy for installing the gauge...

Sorry Dave. I should have said Gauges folder as that is where I put it. It seems to be working OK now thanks.
I have since found the TGSDisplay.exe so should I use that instead and remove the lines I added to the panel.cfg for the A321?
Thanks
John

Best use the TGS Displayer.exe if you are running a dual monitor setup, otherwise it's pointless.
Yes you can delete any lines in your panel.cfg with regards to the tgs gauge.
