Hi,

I just purchased PFE Deluxe today and have it installed and working but I have two problems:

1) Runway information is out dated, for example KTPA should have runway 01L and 19R (the only ILS they have). This was changed by the FAA 5 years ago or so, and I have updated this in my Addon Scenery folder a while back. Within FSX (and of course FSX ATC) it shows me the correct runway identifiers. Now when MakeRwys.exe runs it is in the correct place, so I am not sure why PFE is using out of date data even tough my FSX database has correct info. The readme file for MakeRwys indicates that the other CSV files it creates are for Radar Contact and contain more information than runways.csv! Is there any particular reason why PFE doesn't read the latest data like the competition does? I don't want to sound rude, but I do not want to be stuck with an unsupported product. I'd get a refund and simply buy Radar Contact and live with the robotic voice because ATC with incorrect information is useless to me. If the runways are correct within FSX, they should be correct in PFE. Please tell me this is something simple for me to fix because I do prefer the audio in your product!

2) I was messing around with SID and STAR today and notice that your application will not accept the STAR named DADES3 nor will it accept any STAR with a string length > 5. Will this be corrected? It's not as important as #1, but it seems silly to claim STAR support and yet only use 5 characters.

If you need it, my order # is 375690 and I purchased it on 9.9.2012 (last night).

Thanks,
Stubbs

PS: I also noticed that the taxi helper had me go in a circle at KMCO. I was at gate 10 or 1, I forget, but it had me in a circle. I assume this is due to the same issue as #1?

PPS: I am 100% certain that makerwys.exe parsed my addon scenery folder and the updated bgl files that fix many incorrect runways because I watched it do so.

One more quick question, in the manual it says you can start PFE from the Addons menu in FSX. I do not have such an option, is the documentation out of date?

Thanks!

1. PFE uses the data from MakeRwys. Please ZIP the Runways.CSV file and email it to me

2. Why would you want to be able to enter more than 5 characters here. It would be no point in entering the real name because PFE would be unable to read it out? I think when reading out alpha numeric strings 5 characters is about right.

The manual is up to date provided you have version 2.14. If not please download and install the latest cumulative updates package from this forum. When installing please stop all other programs, especially your anti virus and any other security type programs you might have. Also do NOT install PFE into the default C:\Program Files folder if running Vista or Win 7, as this is a protected folder and Windows will prevent the writing and/or updating of certain files which can result in numerous problems

Thanks for the response, I emailed you the file as requested.

1. File emailed

2. When I wrote this message I was under the impression that PFE supported SIDS and STARS, now I realize it does not and this is just a vocal thing and a way to stop ATC from vectoring you in (or out) on approach (or departure). Sorry for the misunderstanding.

3. I do have version 2.14, the manual still says you can execute PFE from the menu. This is no big deal, I was just mentioning it.

Page 123 of 166, in the "First Steps" section:

"Once you're ready to go you need to Connect PFE to FS, which you can do using
one of two methods. The first and probably easiest method is to open the Add-on
menu from the FS menu bar and select START PFE
. You may also use the
Connect to FS button from PFE's main menu display."

First Page has:
PFE - ProFlight Emulator Ver 2.12
User Manual

Included with PFE release version 2.12

Thanks for that... we removed that option back in 2008 I think, so we missed that para. Thanks for pointing it out

The final issue was resolved by deleting and readding the Addon Scenery from within FSX, for some reason Makerwys was not picking it up, now it is.

Thanks for the great support, it is one of the reasons why I purchased this over Radar Contact.
