I have uninstalled FDC and re-installed it to C:FDC I turned off all my Firewalls and Anti Virus stuff for the install.
I open FS2004 and select the FDC Introductory Flight. I click the CONNECT button on FDC and get - Error 429 ActiveX component can't create object in 'SetupDirectSound' routine. Then FDC automatically shuts itself off.
Please help.

This is definitely a failed installation. Try installing the cumulative updates package.

Thanks Dave, installing the FDC_Accum314, did the trick. But only once. When I try to connect a second time on a new flight I get the message - 'IPC timed out all retries'
Can you please tell me what I must do to remedy this?

When you posted previously,you said you had the latest version of FSUIPC,what is the version you are currently running?

And have you checked http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html for latest version

Hi again Dave. Thx for bearing with me. My version of FUISPC I think is the latest 3.999.
Is it best to run FDC as administrator? Also on the tutorial for FDC Introductory Flight, Step 6 bullet 1 it says press Control-W for the 'Prepare for Take-off call', but for me that just calls up the small spot plane window, is the 'W' a misprint? In the manual it says that Control-W is for the Turbulence warning call. Either way it brings up the Spot plane window. Bit confused. Sorry to pester you.

Sorry Dave. I have another question. In the Manual on page 43 regarding recording one's own voice it says it says 'All the different voice messages are available here. You will find two listings; one listing only the calls made by the captain, and one containing all messages available in FDC Live Cockpit! 2011.'But where is here? I cannot find a list or anything?

OK Guys, thanks for all your help. I think I have it now, apart from the Control-W in the tutorial. But I think I can managem now.

I did the reinstall sevral times. I'm using version 3.14 of FDC and payversion 3.999 of FSUIPC. I'm using Win7-34bit as administrator. Nevertheless I'm still getting the same error message all the time.

What can I do?
