Hello,

My name is Chris and I'm new to the forum and a recent purchaser of PFE.
Alas I haven't managed to get PFE connected to FSX yet despite some serious time spent on it so far and some attempts to self solve and reading FAQs and here. I haven't found all that much on this specific proplem.

I'll do my best to explain the problem:

*I turn off my Norton Anti Virus Smart Firewall and Anti Virus Auto Protect and Install as instructed - everything goes fine and it loads up perfect.

*I follow the Tutorial to the letter and create all the business etc

*I load up FSX and load the PFE_flight plan in to the flight planner so the aircraft is sitting on the tarmac waiting.

*When I press the 'Connect to FS' in PFE it comes up with an angry error message as stated in the title:

"IPC Request contains bad data - Check FSUIPC Version (2.80 later required)"

when I ok this message I get a futher one that says

"Problem conncecting to Flight Sim or Flight Sim not running"

(In flight Sim X menu bar under Add On's there is no mention of PFE so pressing that 'Connect to FS' button in PFE is the only way I've got of attempting to connect.)

Unfortunately despite my attempts to fix ie the accumulation fix and attempts to research FSUIPC online I've never got passed this. :(

All the FSUIPC is very complicated to an amateur computer user who really just wanted to run install and get cracking.

I have tried Re-installing several times and always gets stuck on this everytime. I'd be so grateful for some official help on it or anybody else who can offer a simple fix.

I'm running:
Flight Sim X Acceleration Version
Windows XP 2002 Home Edition SP 3
I'm also running Ultimate Traffic 2 which works a treat. (I was having this problem before installing UT2 so its not a conflict issue with that.)

Many Thanks, I've done my best to explain as clearly as possible. Hoping something can be done! :?
Chris

PS (I've had one other problem when I had a mismatch error trying to start PF20000 but I fixed this with the patch from FAQ's and have had no trouble with this since.)

Do you have the latest version of FSUIPC installed?

ok thanks for this,

I tune in the frequency given to me when the flight is filed into the Com1 Radio and then switch it to Active and then press 0 and still nothing occurs.
