After takeoff from EDDT, I am instructed to contact departure on 119.63. This is the debug log entry:

15/01/2012 09:18:02: 320 - iDepF : 119.63
15/01/2012 09:18:02: 320 - iDepFL : 119.63

However, it is impossible to get into contact with departure on 119.63.

If one looks into the .brf file, the correct departure frequency is 119.5 (FSX shows the same):

DEPARTURE AIRPORT INFORMATION

CLR GROUND TOWER DEPART
121.700 121.750 118.700 119.500

Region settings are English (UK).

What could cause this malfunction and discrepancy?

Michael

I would need to see the whole log to comment. Please email to me. The BRF file is defunct.

It turned out that my problem is caused by the radio equipment:

When flying the default Cessna, I can tune to departure at 119.63 and all works well.

However, when I use a Carenado plane equipped with a GNS430 or GNS530, COM radios can only be tuned to 119.625 or 119.65 with a gap inbetween. It is impossible to tune to 119.63, and ATC remains silent.

Any ideas?

 ....dave

seriously though,i think you need to contact the software company of the aircraft if it's payware or if you have added the radio (payware)

.25 mhz is very large increments to be honest..

I have a recollection the solution to radio increments lies in the aircraft.cfg file. It may be that the solution lies in comparisons of the aircraft.cfg files and making adjustments rather than fiddling with the panel file and gauges. Definitely worth a try . . .

But it seems unlikely that a marketed product with a problem like that hasn't been fixed - I'd check with the vendor for an update first.

John,

a helpful guy over at AVSIM showed me that the channel spacing of the RealityXP GNS530 can be adjusted from 25KHz to 8.33KHz. It is done via the AUX menu / COM Settings.
