This forum is branded PFE Support but over many months I have posted here with questions on matters not detailed in the manual that have never been satisfactorily answered.

Whilst some other users have chipped-in with ideas, I have had no feed-back from Dave, the developer (or anybody that may be classed as support staff) on these matters and I wonder why certain questions seem to be completely ignored when others' concurrent questions are being responded to.

I appreciate that self-help is often useful but in the instances I have raised the responses from other users have not been the solution and have perhaps distracted Dave from the problem. At the same time I cannot help but feel that I have paid for something that should work in every way it claims to but does not. I do not know whether the solutions require a fix or just a way of doing things not explained in the manual. I do think overall it is a great product and whilst many FS2004 add-ons have been abandoned by their developers, this one appears to still be alive and on sale. I'm hoping the lack of responses is just an oversight but I do feel a bit abandoned on a paid-for product.

To sum up:
  1. Airports without separate ground frequency - when contacting tower for Clearance the voice actually asks permission to taxi
    viewtopic.php?f=4&t=663
  2. Airports without separate ground frequency - after pushing back, TGS starts and terminates almost immediately, often before you have moved
    viewtopic.php?f=4&t=663
  3. Airports that have no tower - I have not yet found a way of establishing contact in a way that gets me landing arrangements at destination if I take-off from an un-towered airport
    viewtopic.php?f=4&t=823
Many thanks,

John

Hi John,

Sorry you're feeling this way. Unfortunately I don't think I can offer further help than you've already received. I don't think I've ever flown VFR but all I can say is I know it was tested and it worked. That's not to say you haven't discovered a problem and when I next revisit the code I will look into it as your comments/issues have been added to my ever growing to-do list

Thanks for your reply, Dave.

Just to be clear I was actually flying IFR from smaller commercial airports - I'm surprised others haven't encountered similar problems but I guess most fly between large airports with full facilities.

The frustrating thing is that unless I can find a solution I can't fly satisfactorily between two untowered airports - PFE won't allow me to start at one and Radar Contact will do that but doesn't manage arrivals at them! I can resort to MS's default system but it does sound frightfully dull by comparison now that I'm used to PFE.

Best wishes,

John
