Hi

Is there any way to reduce or stop the continual runway changes. So far I have completed around 10 flights using PFE and every time I have received a runway change at the destination airport. Yesterday was the worst I have ever had on my flight from LEAL to LFML.
Departing LEAL, winds 225/03 I was told to take off using runway 28 which I did and the approaching Iberia pilot had to abort his approach on Runway 10.
On my approach to LFML, wind 0/0 I was allocated runway 32L for landing but later this was changed to 14L and ATC gave me a left turn to double back on myself. Then ATC gave me constant runway changes between 14L and 14R until I was close to the ILS intercept and then changed me to runway 32L again. However I was running short of sim time so I continued and landed on 14L.

Another issue I have discovered is that with Aerosoft Madrid airport PFE does not recognise when I am at the holding point for Runway 36L so I cannot get take off clearance.

Would appreciate any advice from more advanced users.

Regards
Phil

Do you use an external weather program ie:Active Sky?

Do you get TGS as disconnected message when at or near departure runway/holding point?

If so press 6 (top row, not numpad) to override..

Yes I use ASE.

I have not managed to get the TGS system to work as yet even after folling the advice in the TGS thread.

I don't know the airport in question but it may well be that the holding point is too far from the actual end of the runway and so PFE doesn't know you've actually reached it. As Dave 'L' says, just change to Tower frequency and request takeoff clearance

I use the voice version of TGS. Sometimes the advice panel comes up but the voice doesn't speak. If you are at the holding point and nothing is happening the best and obvious thing is to switch to the Tower frequency and hit key 6.
