I've been trying (unsuccessfully obviously, hence post) to find out why I sometimes get a flightdeck callout like this: "... (that's) Off.. O-F-F-F" with the last four letters spelt out. I've used a serach option to look for any spelling 'OFFF' within the searchable documents in the FDC folder - but nothing.

I could live with this of course (!), but would like to fix it if possible, if anyone has any ideas. (I only seem to get it when I choose an unlisted a/c, but I may possibly be wrong there).

Sounds like a CPU problem, I remember had a similiar problem with a game some years ago when I computor became slow.

Check if there is a drop in Frame rate when that happens

CPU problem??? I don't see the connection. Sure you posted your answer to the correct thread?

Whichever voice I choose, I get a response to certain callouts "Set - O-F-F-F" - the word "Off" spelled out with three 'f's. Does that make any sense to anyone? If I knew the sound files where this reply originatess I could edit them.

BTW, no, I can get this with all a/c

There is, If your computer dont have enough CPU power to run FSX with FDC, you may have sound problems. Same with any other games.

Does that happen when you are flying low?

Sorry, a CPU may possibly cause stuttering or other sound problems, but it is not going to cause the voices to mis-spell things in this way, I assure you - this is a recording somewhere (which clearly spells out the four letters O F F F), it's 100% sure not related to hardware (I am a qualified hardware engineer). In any case, the CPu on my PC is an Intel i7 running at 3.8GHz..

All I'd need to do is find the wav file with a recording of O F F F in it - but I can't search them all. Well, if no one knows, it's no big deal of course.

Hi. Yes, the voice spells out O-F-F-F in a reply to a checklist item. Had it several times now.
