1) How in the world can I request a different runway for landing? Or can you, I have no problems requesting a different runway for takeoff, but today flying to KMEM I wanted RW 27 as that is a normal runway for fedex, I thought that by pressing ctrl shift W after being in contact with approach would bring up the option but it does not, I tried and tried but nothing, did I miss understand something? Is this even possible?

2) Being Canadian I do alot of my flying in Canadian airspace, however when flying through Toronto Center, Parts of Montreal Center and Parts of Boston Center it keeps telling me Im in Edmonton Center which isn't even close, So when Im flying into CYYZ my favorite airport and Canada's busiest airport Edmonton center is going to be in control, this really is killing me! Is there away to fix this.

Other then that I have been having a blast.

Ian

Hi MrSpeaker,

My suggested answers are:

1) When you have been given your approach you are informed to contact tower when established. You can tune to tower straight away and request an alternative runway using the keys you suggest.
2) Open PFE go to the Options 2 page and open the Control Centre mapping; that should/may allow you to do what you are asking or to simply have an unnamed centre to contact.

Hope this is accurate and helps.

Best

Hi MrSpeaker,
if you are in Canada, may I ask you if you have international settings in French?
In this case you may have the same problem I had with decimal separator settings (PFE detected me to be roughly 500 miles away from the real position, due to this setting)?

Bye,
Stefano

@Dave Thank you, in the future maby they will change this option to let you change runways when contacting approach, instead of having to wait until your already set up on final. So far I have not needed to do this much, Its just when the wind and AI are changing and I get vectored around like 10 times in five minutes its a bit frustrating, I know there are problems with wind and ai in fsx but if on initial contact with approach if I could request a runway right then and there it would solve this issue when it appears. I will also look into changing Edmonton Center to an unnamed and see what happens. Thank you.

@ Stefano Do you mean my Windows OS language settings? If so I have them set to US, I needed it this way for some software to run properly, or is there some international setting in pfe that I missed, I do not see any reference to it in the manual.

Thanks to both of you for the time

Ian
