Hello,
I have the following problem:
1) I produce a Flightplan with FS2004 and save it;
2) I convert it into PF2000 format using PFE;
3) I import it into PF2000 to compile it;
4) I compile it with success;
5) I check it after compilation and it is completely messed-up.

I report the content of the flightplan (as correctly converted by PFE) and the data on the flightplan as recovered by button "view plan" in PF2000:

As you can see the airport locations are correctly reported both for LIRU and LIRQ. The same is for the waypoints.
If we see the plan, as reported by PF2000 it is completely messed up (as far as airport locations are concerned):

I have correctly updated the database in PFE and the installation has been fixed as suggested in FAQs (XInstall3.exe launched for win7 fix).

Ok sorry,
check the airports locations (longitude and latitude), you will note that the airports, after compilation are shifted some degrees in both. This seems to be real also for the waipoints (this is my guess due to the fact that, flying, I'm reported to be off course even if I well inside the airway)...
I have no time this evening to try it but I am convinced that it could be caused by International settings (I am from Italy)... Do you think that this could be the case?

Yes, international settings can be problematic for some users. However, if the difference is only slight of it causing s problem?

Dear dmarch,
for what concerns the shift, it is real that they are few degrees (only 9) but:
1) the earth has 360 degrees of both latitude and longitude;
2) if you compute the earth circumference, it is:

earth radius * 2 * Pi = 21611,172 nm
3) then, to compute the earth circumference:
Code: Select all
earth circumf. / 360 degrees = 60 nm
This means that, being the error 9 degrees you have:

9 * 60 = 540 nm
I would not call it a slight difference! :)

For what concerns international settings I have finally verified and I detected that the only part of them that is causing problems is the decimal separator. In english settings the separator is the ".", in Italian is ",". If you swap it with the number grouping symbol all is ok. So, the discovery is that you do not have to change all the international settings but only the decimal separator in order to let PF2000 to work correctly.

I have finally changed it and now the airport locations (and waypoint locations) are correct (no shift at all).

So, as conclusion, I confirm that the international settings, and more specifically the decimal separator setting causes the problem of the ATC to report you that you are off-route during flight (to me he said that I was 492 miles away from my flightpath).

After some start-up problems now my PFE is perfectly configured and working... I must say that it is really wonderful!!! Thank you for your hard work...

I hope that my feedback gave some indications also for other people that have the same problems.
