Hello, I am wondering if ICAO codes may be changed or updated. As an example, I am flying to Lima Peru and the new ICAO code is SPJC. This code is not recognized by PF3 however the older code of SPIM is recognized. When i try to load a simbrief flight plan, PF3 gives me error messages. Besides manually going into the flight plan and changing the ICAO code, is there anyway to have PF3 get updated to reflect the new ICAO code? Also, i am wondering if this is an issue with FSX and not PF3. Any assistance would be appreciated?

I may be wrong, but I thought the ICAO codes for the airports were taken from the sim when you run makerunways. You may have to update SPIM to SPJC in the SIM if you want PF3 to use those codes.

My copy of FSX shows SPJC for Jorge Chavez International Lima, but I updated to AIRAC cycle 2112 using fsAerodata; this gave me consistency across SimBrief, FSX and PF3. Unfortunately the fsAerodata service closed in January 2022, so this option is no longer available.

I think that you have two options:

1) Plan your flight using SimBrief, and then edit the flight plan to change SPJC to SPIM (as you already said).
This is probably the simplest option and will make the plan usable with PF3 and FSX.

2) Edit the CSV files produced by MakeRwys to change all references to SPIM to SPJC, and then reload the PF3 database.
This will fix the issue for PF3, but means that FSX wouldn't understand the flight plan (so aircraft GPS wouldn't work, for instance).

Hope this helps,
Martin

Thank you for the quick responses. I will edit the flight plan as I was doing as this seemed to work the best. :D
