Hi

I've purchased PFE and PFE Voice Pack... however I can't seem to get the TGS system working...

It says initiasing TGS... and that at startup - however, when I recieve my taxi information from ATC, and replies back, nothing more happens... No voice prompt, and the gauge (which I tried to install by putting the tgs.gau in \Gauges folder in FS9 directory - and adding the line in panel.cfg for the aircraft in question) doesn't appear when set to "Autohide ON" (with the setting to OFF, the gauges shows, but remains "lifeless")...

I hope the info I provided "means" something... :-)
Thanks for a great product btw... and great support!!!

Hope you will be able to help me...

Best regards
Anders

Hi Anders,

I think the best thing to do is to send me the debug_monitor.log file from your ....\PFE\Logs folder for your last flight, because I need to ascertain if full taxi instructions were actually given and if not why not. The TGS gauge will remain inactive until FULL taxi instructions are given.

Hi Dave,

Btw...

The key detections in the log-files, is me trying to activate TGS using the "1"-key... That all happens after, TGS supposely has activated - however I don't get a "Taxi monitor active..." or as already mentioned any vocal or visual guidance...

I am running on Windows 7 x64...

If you need any more info, or I have missed something... let me know!
Thanks for you help!

Best regards
Anders

Have you rebuilt the database?

Hi Andy,

Yes... I've tried rebuilding the PFE Database serveral times... I've also run MakeRWS.exe everytime before rebuilding in PFE... Without luck... :( - thanks for help, anyway!

To Dave:

Thanks for your reply... I don't really understand that I should be near the runway/on the holding point... Anyway - when starting, and the FSUIPC Display shows "Initialising TGS..." the TGS Gauge lights up, with an arrow, and the LED's - but it disappears again - and the gauge remains "lifeless" and inactive...

I've just tried a new flight from KORD to KJFK - (both FSDreamTeam sceneries) - I started on a gate, and initiated contact with ATC on the apron just outside the terminal - nowhere near the runway... :-) But still, the same problem!

I've send you a new email, containing the logs from the above mentioned flight...
Thanks a million to the both of you, for using up your valuable time to help me! Really appreciate this! :-)

Best regards
Anders

Hi Dave,

I've done some troubleshooting... Found an update on your forum - something intended for Vista x64 users... I tried overwriting the files in the PFE dir.
With succes!
When overwriting, the PFE version changed to 2.1.0... TGS was working properly as it should in this version! Tried updating with the auto-update and it updated to version 2.6.0 - this version also, had a working TGS and Gauge!
The auto-update won't update further - When updating using the Accumulative Update application, it updates to version 2.11.0... After this update, the TGS and gauge doesn't work anymore... Why? I don't know...

Don't know, if this means anything to you - but I just thought you should know...
Thanks again for helping me with this!

Best regards
Anders

No one gives you taxi guidance in real life. An easy fix for all these problems: Go to flightaware.com then download and print yourself up an airport diagram for whatever airport you are flying out of and into. Now you have a map of all the taxiways and when ATC gives you taxi instructions just pay attention and look at your diagram. There, that was easy, wasnt it? Problem solved.

Of course they do. The TGS feature in PFE is meant to simulate the PNF reading the chart and giving you guidance which actually does happen in real life

@Anders

Just back after a time away so if you're still having issues please send me another log
