I've had an issue with getting sound from Pf3 when connected to P3D (sheesh, that's a lot of abbreviations!). I've tried troubleshooting tips I've seen with other forum posts, but haven't had any luck.

I'm attaching the logs and I would appreciate anything you can do to help. Thanks!

Robert

Well this is a strange one. The reason you have no sound is due to a missing file. I've attached a copy of the file which you need to drop into your PF3\Wav\ATIS\P04 folder.

But, my guess is you probably have more missing files so I would suggest you run the PF3 Validation from Options #2 and see what that says. If it does report more missing files please zip and attach the output log to your reply and we'll decide on the best course of action

Yikes! There are 32 missing files. And this is a brand new computer so this is a fresh install of P3.

Good afternoon, sir,

I did a complete uninstall/reinstall of PF3 and I'm still getting no sound after connecting. I also ran the validate utility and it came back with no errors. I'm attaching the latest log files for your reading pleasure.

Well there are no errors in the log and as far as I can see ATIS was played without a problem... so I'm unsure as to why you couldn't hear anything. For my sanity, please open your PF3.INI file and search for the NoAudioDeviceScan=0 entry and change it to NoAudioDeviceScan=1, then save the file and try PF3 again. Also, as well as ATIS please try tuning to an ATC facility and hitting Hotkey #0 to make contact. Then disconnect PF3 from FS, exit PF3 and let me see the debug log.

Hey Dave,

I'm attaching the debug logs per your request but I believe the problem lies with how the Pimax is getting sound. It uses my NVIDIA video card to get the sound through the display port connection. It has no other audio connections available and PF3 doesn't seem to like that very much. The P3D noises come through fine.

However if I plug in a regular pair of headphones to my audio jacks then PF3 comes through loud and clear. I'm not sure if there is a workaround for my issue but I am hoping that if there is you will direct me there.

Thanks,

Robert

Ah right, okay, change the NoAudioDeviceScan=1 setting back to NoAudioDeviceScan=0

Start PF3 and go to Options #2, Advanced Options, Audio Output Configuration. A list of your audio outputs should be displayed and you can select the correct one for PF3 to use.

Please let me know how you get on

Hi again, good sir,

I'm afraid setting PF3 to use the Pimax sound had no effect. It may be that I will just have to use the regular headset when I use PF3. If I am able to figure out something else then I will let you know.

Thank you for taking the time to put in the work on helping me resolve this. It is much appreciated.

Robert
