Oh darn, that's shot my Heinkel down,

Its beginning to sound as if it must be something external, perhaps a Windows 10 "feature" that is screwing things up. I freely admit I have been messing with screen settings since the eye operations started in September and some of those just wouldn't co-operate with FS at all. I didn't think I fiddled with these at the time of that update but to satisfy myself, I might make a new install and use an older manual update to bring it up to a relatively recent but not current version and see what happens then. I will de-register the existing version first, so hopefully I won't run out of "uses".

Looking back through my downloads of PF3_Cumulative_Updates_Setup.zip I can see my most recent were 24/12/21 and 29/8/21 so I'm guessing the latter is the previous version.

I will let you know the results . . . but I won't be doing this immediately.

Whilst reading your last post and hearing about your eye op it reminded me of an episode of 'only fools and horses' and I was wondering if it may give an insight as to what the problem is with your blinking gauge... just a thought!!!

Hilarious, Dave, not seen that before.

I'm going to ask a silly question - when you did the test at EHAM, you DID have FDC running alongside PF3? It is only when I have both running that I have the Fools & Horses experience. All works as it should if I'm not using FDC for crew checklists.

Well the good news is I have been able to partial recreate the problem here. I say 'partly' because my gauge doesn't disappear, it's the display content that is dropping (blinking)

The bad news is I have not yet been able to find the cause.... but it is work in progress

Thanks for the update. I'm thoroughly relieved to find it isn't something else in my computer setup causing it.

I may have escaped being classed a Grade 1 prat for that, but probably qualify for a Grade 2 for not being specific enough about what in fact was going on and off. My symptoms are indeed the same as yours, doctor. Clip round the ear accepted.

I did in fact set up the old version this morning but haven't put it to the test yet. I'll probably stick with it for a while.

I meant PF3. It is now on 3.12.0 and I can now confirm that the gauge works as it should with that version so it is something since that version that has affected things.

I must admit I've been sidetracked somewhat, but will endeavour to get back on track.
