This has happened 3 times since installing 2.12, I have had no problems prior to the new version. I am running PFE on Windows XP. When uninstalling PFE to reinstall I get the following error message.
SELF REGISTRATION ERROR
C:\WINDOWS\system32\PolarZIPLight.dll
module could not be found
A search for the above application extension fails to find it.
Reinstalling PFE 2.10 puts the file back. Any ideas?

Have you tried running the accumulative installer?

Also when doing so please stop all other running applications, especially any virus checkers and in particular any security type products. Oh yeah, make sure you are logged in with Admin rights during the install.

I've already done all you suggest Dave, Prior to the problem with PFE not running, the previous sessions have been terminated by myself before the flight has ended, and I always disconnect from FSX before closing PFE.
I'll send you a log the next time if you think it may help.

If you email me I can send you a copy of the missing file to install manually... see if that helps.

Something on your system must be stopping this file being installed or is deleting it after it is installed

Hi Dave, The PolarZIPLight.dll was getting deleted by something? Dave, I have done a complete uninstall and reinstall with the new 2.14 update, early days yet but I have not encountered the problem with 2.14
As nobody else has reported a similar issue, then I must tend to agree that 2.12 may have been a dodgy installation.
