Just flown this IFR and it was dead boring! I flew runway heading and waited for the route changes that would bring me on to the flight plan, and waited, and waited all the way to approach.

Don't know why I bothered to knock out one of the waypints because it was too short or painstakingly note the rest fully expecting to have to follow the flight plan! :roll:

I finally arrived and PF3 brought me down, put me on to approach, and finally let me land on ILS.

No excitement at all. I'll have to think up some more botch-ups to make for the next flight. ;)

John

Nice!

Next time switch to the Dash8 in the next parking spot, then at least the plane will keep you busy :lol:

This is one of those flights that the flight planning add-ons can't do properly as there is no direct airway. So instead they route all round the houses.
Try:-
NIK-->FERDI-->ABB-->DPE-->CAN-->SENLO-->BEVAV-->JSY
Keep it below FL220 because of Dieppe. As that's a major crossing point.

Yes, well, it'll be a little while now as for the next few days I'll be doing some beta testing for my friend who's done some extra addon scenery for the photo scenery of the area.

I'm better at that than I am flying normally. All I have to do is cruise around to check the buildings have back walls, the fences don't have gaps etc.

It's a pity that the fpl programmes don't allow for direct routes. As when you would file that fpl in reality you would have
DCTNIK DCTFERDI DCTABB DPE CAN SENLO BEVAV JSY as the indicated route.

You can very often get P3D default flight plan direct routes by flying VFR but that's not nearly so interesting and doesn't keep me busy enough. I need busy as I'm apt to fall asleep! :roll:
