I had thought that this was because I was on a 'turnaround' flight:

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2284

.. but I just had the same thing happen tonight when flying VABB to VOHS (I flew only that one leg): I asked for a change of runway and then made my approach as usual (9R instead of the originally offered 9L). Everything was normal, apart from the fact that I was continually told to maintain 4000 - as before, all the way during descent and even after landing and tuning to ground frequency. (I am in PF3 Mode 2 at that stage, so frequency changes should be automatic).

I am pretty sure I had been told to contact the airport (whatever frequency it was, I've closed PF3 now so don't recall) "when established". So why the constant nag to maintain my approach altitude (here 4000')? I didn't have this before the latest update.. Is this a new bug, or is it my fault, somehow?

I attach the logs.

Thanks! ;)

Martin

Just wondering if there's any date in sight for the next update, which will hopefully fix this? :)

In case another log helps, one is attached. (After change of runway request, ATC says they will check - and that's the last you hear. They do tell you over and over to 'Maintain 2500 feet' though, even after you are parked at the gate).

I know it's been a while but I've only just started to look into this one and noticed that for both of these flights you were told to descend to the altitude you were being nagged about AND told to contact Tower when established. You never did contact Tower and just continued on your descent and landed WITHOUT clearance. So there isn't actually a problem to fix!

I'm afraid it's too far back to recall, and you have the logs so I can't really comment - but if I didn't contact tower, that would still be an PF3 issue, no?, as I was in auto-mode (2 probably). And I know I only ever get this issue if I ask for a change of landing runway (and always when I do). I'm quite OK with taking the blame if I mess up (not getting any younger), but I don't think this can be all me, I am pretty familiar with PF3 after all this time and can't be making this mistake every single time I ask for a runway change, but never otherwise - too much of a coincidence, surely?

Thanks! ;)

Okay, I'll take another look but you shouldn't land without contacting tower to get permission to do so

Right I think I may have found the reason why your PNF didn't make contact with Tower.
