Hello Dave,

In first, thank you very much for this update. Pf3 is better and better :) .

1/After landing and clearing the runway like instructed by the tower, I had no answer from the tower to my taxi request (key0).Logs joined.

2/I noticed that now Pf3 monitors the cruise Altitude during an Ifr flight :) . Thank you to have added this feature which was missing in the previous version. However I noticed that the nag Alt intervenes when there is a difference of +-500ft.
Is there a option to modify this parameter in the ini file that I missed ? If not, please could you change if possible this interval to put to + -50 or 100ft max in relation to the cruising altitude or better, give to the user the choice of the parameter ?

Thank you in advance,

Regards,

Richard Portier

You have to contact ground for a taxi request.

bobsk8, you forgot to type your reply :)

Richard:
Regarding the taxi request:

02/10/2016 17:34:13: 870 - ****** HotKey #10 detected!

02/10/2016 17:34:19: 210 - Transcript: 'exit runway Right Contact Tower on 118.25   November 323 Delta Echo  '
VCP mode 1 is a strange beast for me since it does not only change frequencies on the radio, but additionally does the readbacks for ATC's calls to change frequencies.
So there is an extra HotKey #10 (Roger) here. I have made a wishlist entry for an option to disable VCP Freq readback in VCP mode 1 completely to avoid such situations.
But the problem is something else here: This airport does not have a separate frequency for Ground, so you have to "switch" from Tower to Tower. PF3 detects this correctly, but at this point you have to use the hotkeys for Ground. And with Ground (and Tower) hotkey #0 means "Taxi to runway", so you need hotkey #5 (request taxi to terminal) here.

Regarding the lower tolerance for altitude deviations: I'd like to have this, too. For me 300 feet would be good enough (see http://www.eurocontrol.int/lexicon/lexi ... Level_bust), but having it configurable would be nice, too.
Edit: I just added a wishlist entry for this in the internal forum :)

The problem with 50 or a hundred feet would be that PF3 would be constantly nagging you especially during heavy turbulence. It's too narrow a margin.

Yes somehow, my reply was posted as part of his question, but after reading your reply, looks like I was wrong anyway. ;) I had stated that he needed to contact ground for taxi.

Thank you for your answers,

@bobsk8,
Sorry, I forgot to say there was not ground control at this airport (EGPA Sumburgh).

@ThomasAH,
"And with Ground (and Tower) hotkey #0 means "Taxi to runway", so you need hotkey #5 (request taxi to terminal) here"
The problem is the hotkey #5 is "Request the Option (Touch'n Go)" when the coms are set to tower. Am I missing something ?

Concerning the Alt nag :
"Regarding the lower tolerance for altitude deviations: I'd like to have this, too. For me 300 feet would be good enough (see http://www.eurocontrol.int/lexicon/lexi ... Level_bust), but having it configurable would be nice, too.

Between 100ft and 300ft there are 150ft or 200ft, cut the pear in half :lol: .
Thank you to have added a wishlist for this and yes if possible, having it configurable would be very nice, too. :)

You are right about the value of 50ft but in an other Atc program the value from memory is around +-100ft, I had never got the problem you describe during turbulence. Maybe a 150ft/200ft would be a good compromise!? Imo the ideal would in fact to have the choice for the user. The few times I have been called to order by Atc about the altitude were when I forgot to set the altimeter to 1013 / 29.92 :lol:

Thanks and Regards,

Richard Portier

PF3 should know that you are talking to the "Ground personality" of Tower, so this should work.
Please try it, and tell us if it does not work.

Yes, got it... :) Thank you.
