How to get a Instrument App?

I have done a lot of flights with pf3 now in GA a/c. Its a holiday in the US. I can't get atc to give me a IAP. Will check///not able at this time so i have to go to pilots on decrep. I read manual just trying to have so fun now. Thanks for your help.

You were already given an IAP...

Transcript: 'Beech 6429 Continue present heading expect vectors for the ILS runway 19 Left Approach '

So what was wrong with that?

"Vectors" means approach ATC will vector you to an intercept course to capture the LOC.

If you want to fly a published procedure (STAR + IAP or just IAP), you can either:

set up your initial flightplan so the last waypoint is where you want to begin your approach and tick the box for STARS ACTIVE.....you will be told you are "cleared for finals" once you reach that waypoint and you fly your published approach

OR

when you wish to fly your approach procedure, just request "cleared to finals" from approach ATC. I cannot recal the keystrokes needed, but you can look them up on the PF3 Displayer utility.
