Did a search on this topic, but couldn't find much, so posting this question. Now using PF3 which has a great feature, using AI traffic to generate ATC chatter in the program. What I have noticed, since I am now flying only GA aircraft on my sim, and have been using GA AI only, is that I get almost zero PF3 ai chatter. If I turn on some airline traffic in MT 6, then I get AI chatter through PF3, which is almost entirely chatter with airliners. Now I go to an airport, that I live near, KPDK, which has a great deal of GA traffic in real life, and I see static aircraft from MT6, but almost none of them are active on the airport. So if they aren't active, then of course there is no ai communication on tower, clearance, or ground radio freqs. My question is twofold, the first part asking, do you experience a similar situation with GA lack of activity at Airports with MT6, if you use MT 6? The second part of the question, is , with PF3, do you find that almost all the chatter is from airliners, versus GA AI?

The quick answer is yes. However, I think it depends on where you're flying from and to. Adjacent to London Heathrow and City there's a lot more traffic anyway but it's surprising when you zoom in on Flight Radar how much the real traffic is dispersed so it's hardly surprising there's less chatter than we would think.

Personally, I've never heard chatter from the P3D v3.3.5m GA traffic.

I don't use MT6 so hopefully someone with more knowledge can come along and chime in. I think that if GA aircraft are active at the airport, you will hear the appropriate AI chatter in PF3. As you say, static AI aircraft do not generate chatter. The AI activity is a function of the traffic bgl files in MT6, which determine the routes and arrival/departure times of AI traffic. There may be a way to adjust the activity of GA or create additional routes in MT6; I don't know. There are also some freeware programs that will create additional traffic files (over and above your traffic add-on) if you need some more GA activity. I think with some of these programs you can even designate AI to perform circuits or touch-and-go at the airport.

As far as I know for the Ai generated chatter to work two things need to be in place.
In the Aircraft.cfg there needs to be an atc_airline defined and then the relevant call sign WAV's to be present in PF3's recorded voice sets.
The GA aircraft both in PF3's aircraft models and the default GA stuff do not have this line so there is nothing to call out.

You might like to try adding an atc_airline=CESSNA to the cessna's in MyTraffic aircraft and see if any of them will generate chatter. as I am sure cessna is in the PF3 WAV files.

Hopefully Dave marsh will rely on the PF3 forum with a better explanation.

As a test, I just set up at KDPA (a small airport near Chicago) and started PF3. After tuning Clearance frequency I heard PF3 ATC issue clearances to two Gulfstream IV aircraft without airline designations. PF3 referred to the aircraft by registration (N2107Z and N404XT).

I guess that answers that then.

Also double-check to see if you have "General Aviation" ticked in the FS traffic options (where you set the percentage). I know you said you are seeing static GA but I mention it because I don't see any unless I have that option selected.

I am using P3D and that isn't an option. I see plenty of GA AI, but hardly any chatter.

Flyin tonight from KNHD to KVCV and getting a great deal of GA and airline chatter. Appears everything is working properly.
