I used the default FSX flight planner. Should I try to create a flight plan with other planners as well? Such as the one in REX?

After thousands of attempts to create an ADV format flight plan with PF2000, I gave up. So is there a way for me to just use the awesome features of PFE without creating a flight plan? Say I just wanna fly VFR around my home base and I wanna enable PFE. Is that possible? Thank you.

actually I just set the center altitude from 1000 to 30000 and made sure it was always lower than the cruise altitude but it still didn't work.

I just checked everything except the center altitude. Since I'm only flying VFR in a Cessna 172 at 6500ft, is that gonna be too low if I set the center altitude lower than that?
