Post subject:  Problem flight

Hi.

I've tried to do this flight (EGNM to EHAM) a couple of times now but get the same issue:

LAMI2W LAMIX L603 LAMSO MONIL PETIK

At the completion of the SID, Leeds Departure does not hand me off, nor give me instruction to climb. I am held at FL070 for the duration of the flight then handed over to Schipol Approach.

I have adjusted the flightplan to indicate the end of the SID , followed with my cruise alt. as shown near my expected TOC.

I have also tried just adding the end of the SID on it own - same result.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help.

Bill

Unfortunately that logs is also empty, I guess you must have done one or more flights since the issue?

Not much I can do without a log file I'm afraid but please report again should you have the same problem and to be on the safe side include both the logs

Thanks for the new log.

The problem here was you entered 7000' as a new altitude at waypoint #2 (as your end of SID), but PF3 should not have allowed you to do that without changing the altitude at waypoint #1 from FL330. So what's happened is you reached 7000' long before reaching WP #2, in fact when you were still 46 miles from WP #1, at which point SID Mode was deactivated. Then, on reaching WP #1 PF3 calculated the next altitude call and because WP 2# was below WP #1 it assumed you had begun your decent and so entered descent mode... hence why you got no further climb instructions.

So, in the interim I would suggest you check your flight profile carefully and I shall check why PF3 failed to stop you making the mistake, but that won't be till I release the next beta.

Thanks for highlighting another bug

Edit: In fact you don't have to change that altitude to 7000 if it's a SID restriction (if it was you missed it anyway! :o ). If you want the SID to be complete by a certain altitude rather than a waypoint you can so so on the main SID/STAR page.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the response.

I already have the Alt set in the SIDS/STARS page like this:

Are you saying just to leave the Alts in the FP page as is, like this?:

If so, I'll try the flight again and see what happens.

Bill

I didnt think you'd notice I missed the Altitude. My excuse: new aircraft :D

Yes indeed. I mean if you did need to change WP 3 to 7,000 for some reason you would have to change WP2 to 7000 or below to make it a valid profile. The next version of PF3 will ensure you can't do what you did but till then... be careful.
