Post subject: | ATIS Display using RemoteText |
Hi, I'm posting this again separately as it may have been missed - it was mentioned in a follow-up to previous thread: I'm guessing this isn't the expected behaviour? I've also noticed that sometimes other ATC messages/responses aren't shown in RemoteText - I'm trying to capture an example. Thanks, Martin |

I used Wireshark to capture the message being sent to RemoteText (but not displayed): 0:Gatwick Airport Information Romeo Weather at 1745 Zulu winds calm visibility 10 kilometres or more Sky condition clear . Temperature 15 . Dewpoint 5 QNH 1013 Runway 08L in use, Landing departing runway 08L . VFR aircraft say direction of flight. All aircraft readback hold short instructions. Advise controller on initial contact you have Romeo And RemoteText sent the following reply: OK... Hope this helps you find the problem, Martin |

Thanks but it's not really a problem because ATIS is not actually an ATC message... the message ID which is sent as the header, in this case '0:' tells RemoteText what to display according to the options you have set, so it's working as designed (as they say) I'll see what I can do to make the ATIS messages cut through for all settings. |

Ah, another misunderstanding by me - thanks Dave. Having turned off FSX ATC as you suggested, and which was confusing me, I was trying to get a complete ATIS summary on-screen and failing. This is what I see using the default FSX Message window - the information is truncated: This is what I see if I enable the FSUIPC multi-line window - the information is similarly truncated: And this is what I see if I use RemoteText with the 'Show ATC messages to / from AI aircraft' option - it may be unintended, but it's really helpful: Apologies if I'm being a pain Thanks again for a great piece of software, Martin |

No problem... I'm looking at it now, if it's an easy enough change it will be in the next release, which is due within the next couple of days, once I get the documentation sorted. |
